Yes, customers of Firestone Financial, a subsidiary of Berkshire Bank, can use the service for payment processing. However, if you are a Firestone customer, you may wish to first contact Firestone Customer Service directly at 800-851-1001 to discuss this and other payment options.

What forms of payment do you accept through this service?
We accept payments from checking and savings accounts.

What information do I need to submit a payment?
  • Your account number and billing statement zip code as shown on your statement
  • Contact information, including daytime telephone number and e-mail
  • The amount you want to pay
  • Your routing number and checking account

Is it possible for me to authorize an electronic payment for more than one account?
Yes, through enrollment in the billing service for recurring payments. Each payment needs to be submitted separately.

Is there a service charge for using the service?
No. The payment service is offered free of charge to all loan customers of Berkshire Bank and its subsidiaries.

What is the cut-off time for posting a payment?
Any payment submitted after 5:00 p.m. EST will be processed the following business day.

How quickly will my payment be applied to my account?
Your payment will be posted to your account effective the day it was submitted so long as it occurs before the daily cut-off, though it may take 3-5 business days to process through your institution.

Can I pay after my due date?
Yes, subject to certain exceptions for delinquent accounts. If you are delinquent, please contact our Collections team at 800-773-5601 or the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Can I pay any amount?
Yes, you can pay any amount. Please be aware, for any amounts paid on certain accounts which are less than the installment amount due, the payment may be placed into a suspense account until a full installment payment is collected. This may cause you to become delinquent. Other accounts paid may satisfy future bills. Payments to principal must be specified at the time payment is made.

Will you send me a confirmation of my payment?
Yes. An e-mail confirmation will be sent to the e-mail address you provide. A paper confirmation will be sent to you by postal mail when you pay from a bank account and do not give us an e-mail address.
The only confirmation we send for payments will be sent through e -mail. If you choose not to provide us with an e-mail address and make your payment, we will not send you confirmation of your payment.

What if my payment is returned for non-sufficient (NSF) funds?
You will be notified if you have a payment returned for non-sufficient funds (NSF). Beware, you may be assessed an NSF fee by Berkshire Bank or your banking institution where the deposit account is held.

Can I sign up for recurring automatic withdrawals at my bank?
Yes. You can enroll in this service to have your account payments automatically withdrawn from your designated account when due.

Why does my payment continue to fail?
The payment account information may have been blacklisted for any number of reasons. Please contact customer service.

Can I sign-up to have my bills sent electronically instead of by U.S. postal mail?
Yes. Please enroll in Personal and Small Business Online Banking located on the Berkshire Bank home page. Once you are enrolled, you will have the ability to change your bill delivery options.

Do I need a User ID and password?
When making one-time payments, there is no need to create an account. However, to enroll for recurring automatic payments, you will be required to establish a user ID and password.

How secure is my payment and personal information?
We use VeriSign's industry-standard secure server software (SSL) for all transactions. For your protection, all of your transaction information is encrypted when it travels over the Internet.

What browser is best for viewing with this service?
It is recommended that you use the most currently supported version of either Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, or Chrome.

Are there other means of making payments on my loan to Berkshire Bank other than using this service?
Yes, you may mail a payment by check to the PO Box on your statement coupon, submit an authorization for Berkshire Bank to apply a recurring ACH from a banking institution of your choice, or to establish a recurring transfer from an internal Berkshire Bank account. Please be aware, however, that these methods may not always account for any changes in your loan payments as a result of interest rate, escrow or other changes which affect monthly payment amounts.
